Let’s say I have a brand called “jin jin”, and I own www.jinjin.com. When I search for “jinjin”, my domain is the first result, but when I search for “jin jin”, my domain is only the 5th result. Any idea on how to put my site on 1st result? btw, the no. 1 & 2 results are of my account on flickr and no. 3 & 4 are of an article made about my brand 2 years ago in a big news site. My site is up for around 6 months and this situation is the same. I don’t care too much about other keywords – only that “jin jin” will yield “www.jinjin.com” as the first result.

I have been writing copy part time for the past two years, working for two separate SEO/copywriting companies, as well as a health news company. I really like the work and have garnered some praise for it, but I’m only being paid two cents per word on average. I work my butt off and I still can only make a maximum of $200 every two weeks. Does anyone have tips for a copywriter with a little experience under her belt, wanting to break into a full time job doing this? I don’t need tons of money to start with–I know I am basically a beginner, but I would like to make at least $1,000 a month. I don’t mind learning new things and entering a company from the ground up. I live in Upstate NY, but am willing to relocate if necessary. Even a list of any companies that might hire an entry-level copywriter would be greatly appreciated. Please only answer if you are a copywriter, work for a company that employs copywriters, etc. Thanks so much, everyone!
